今天,在德國韋茨拉爾,華為與徠卡宣布了更進(jìn)一步的戰(zhàn)略合作計(jì)劃,雙方將設(shè)立麥克斯·別雷克創(chuàng)新實(shí)驗(yàn)室進(jìn)行聯(lián)合研發(fā)。


這個(gè)創(chuàng)新實(shí)驗(yàn)室將在新光學(xué)系統(tǒng)、計(jì)算成像、虛擬現(xiàn)實(shí)(VR)和增強(qiáng)現(xiàn)實(shí)(AR)領(lǐng)域開展聯(lián)合研發(fā)。
這是在雙方結(jié)成光學(xué)工程長(zhǎng)期技術(shù)伙伴7個(gè)月之后進(jìn)一步合作。而華為與徠卡第一次合作聯(lián)合開發(fā)的雙攝像頭手機(jī)P9引領(lǐng)了新的手機(jī)攝影潮流。在上市5個(gè)月以來,華為P9載譽(yù)全球,斬獲手機(jī)領(lǐng)域的諸多獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。

根據(jù)雙方公布的戰(zhàn)略合作計(jì)劃,除了集合兩家公司的研發(fā)資源外,華為和徠卡還計(jì)劃與德國、一些國際大學(xué)以及研究機(jī)構(gòu)展開合作。
正是得益于徠卡相機(jī)全球監(jiān)事會(huì)主席安德魯·考夫曼博士與華為公司總裁任正非的遠(yuǎn)見與支持,促成了創(chuàng)新實(shí)驗(yàn)室的成立。

該創(chuàng)新實(shí)驗(yàn)室位于徠卡總部所在的德國城市韋茨拉爾,其命名來源于德國顯微鏡先驅(qū)、徠卡鏡頭的發(fā)明人麥克斯·別雷克(1886–1949)。別雷克曾為奧斯卡·巴納克(OskarBarnack)發(fā)明的35毫米傳奇徠卡相機(jī)設(shè)計(jì)了20多款鏡頭,這些鏡頭成像質(zhì)量卓越,構(gòu)造上與巴納克的天才機(jī)身設(shè)計(jì)完美結(jié)合,助力徠卡在35毫米攝影領(lǐng)域取得全球成功。
在此之前,華為已經(jīng)在全球擁有36個(gè)聯(lián)合創(chuàng)新中心和16個(gè)研發(fā)中心,以全球化的創(chuàng)新資源驅(qū)動(dòng)長(zhǎng)期發(fā)展。

Huawei and Leica Camera EstablishNew R&D Center
The ‘Max Berek Innovation Lab’ will conduct R&D in the fields of new optical systems, computational imaging, virtual reality and augmented reality
[Wetzlar,Germany, September 23, 2016] Huawei and Leica Camera AG today announced they have expanded their strategic collaboration with the establishment of a jointly operated research and innovation center, the ‘Max Berek Innovation Lab’.
The launch comes seven months after the public announcement of their long-term technology partnership in the field ofoptical engineering, and five months after the launch of the globally successful, multiple-award winning Huawei P9 and P9 Plus smartphones.

The new lab, located at Leica’s global HQ in Wetzlar, Germany, will drive further development of optical systems and software-based technologies to improve imaging quality in a wide range of photographic and mobile device applications. Additional outcomes will include the creation of computational imaging, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) solutions.
In addition to R&D resources from both companies, Huawei and Leica plan to collaborate with German and international universities and research institutions.

The Lab’s establishment is the result of the vision and support of Ren Zhengfei, CEO of Huawei and Dr. Andreas Kaufmann,majority shareholder and chairman of the advisory board of Leica Camera AG.
“In the future, over 90 percent of the data traffic will be imagesand videos,” said Ren Zhengfei, CEO of Huawei. “The Max Berek Innovation Lab provides the capacity to establish an even closer partnership with Leica,leading to continuous improvements in image and video quality. The R&D center is named in remembrance of Max Berek (1886 –1949), the German pioneer of microscopy and creator of the first Leica lenses,who was also responsible for the optical design of more than 20 lenses for the legendary 35mm camera invented and built by Oskar Barnack. Thanks to their exceptional imaging performance and perfect harmonization of the lenses, with Barnack’s ingenious construction, did it become possible for Leica to achieve worldwide success in 35mm photography.
